- The standardization of fish and fishery products, the safety standard and technological regulation of food.
- The inspection and quality control of fish, fishery products and fish feed.
Working experience and achievement
- 1968, graduated from the Ocean University of China, major in fish processing.
- 1978-current, work in Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of Chinese Academy Fishery Science, initially engaged in fish processing and fresh preservation.
- 1980-current, fish product standardization and quality inspection, and drafting the standard system of national fish and fishery products industry. Involved in the draft of 5-year programming of national fishery standardization; served as the director of Fish and Fishery Product Technical committee of National fishery Standardization Technical Commission in China. Presided the drafting of many National Standards (GB) and Fishery industry standards(SC), such as "Methods of Fish Sampling", "Terms of Fish Processing", "Frozen Marine Fish", "Frozen Scallop Mast", "Fish Meal", "Fish Oil in Feed"etc.
- 1989-2005, responsible for the establishment of the National Center for Quality Supervision and Test of Aquatic Products (NCQSTAP) and then served as director of the centre.
- 1990-current, introduction and application of HACCP in the fishery industry all over China. Nominated as the NATIONAL TEACHER by FAO, attended and provided training courses in fish quality control seminars organized by FAO for many times.
- 1996, Participated in the 2nd International Fish Inspection and Quality Control Conference (Washington DC, US).
- 1998, Participated in the 34th CAC CCFFP (Bergen, Norway)
- 1999, Participated in the HACCP Workshop in Fishery (Northern Sea Fishry Center, Denmark)
- 2003, Participated in the 5th International Fish Inspection and Quality Control Conference and IAFI Workshop (The Hague, Netherlands)
- 2005, Participated in the 6th World Congress on Seafood Safety, Quality and Trade (Sydney, Australia).
- 2003, Visited Japan for investigating eel's production and safety supervision and management.
- 2004, Visited Spain, Italy, Holland for investigating the European system for shellfish safety supervision and management.
- 2004, Visited Peru for investigating the production and quality inspection of the fish meal.
- Currently, Technical consultant of the NCQSTAP. presiding over the research project of the State Ministry of Science and Technology now (Study on the quality safety standard system of the major fish species).
External appointments and technological membership
- Chairman of the National Standard Committee on Fish and Fishery Products;
- Senior council member of the China Aquatic Products Processing and Marketing Association (CAPPMA), and Councilor of the Tilapia Committee of CAPPMA;
- Senior member of the Expert Committee of Animal Nutrition and Feed, Chinese Society of Fisheries;
- Member of the National Standardized Technical Commission of Fishery Industry;
- Member of the National Standardized Technical Commission of Food Industry;
- Member of the Expert Committee of Qingdao Olympic FoodProject.
