Olivier Hottlet

Olivier Hottlet has been involved in seafood trading for close to 25 years. After finishing studies of applied economics (international trade) in Antwerp in 1981 he soon started working in the family business, Hottlet Frozen Foods NV, founded by his father Pierre in 1970. He took over the company with his brother Benoît in 1991 and since then they are both managing director of it.

Beside trading, Olivier has been involved on behalf of his company in shrimp aquaculture in Ecuador and Peru, and seafood processing in Peru and Spain. He is also defending the interest of his company and his trade trough his active presence in various associations:

  • President of BELGAFOOD (the Belgian food importer’s association)
  • Director of FEDIS (the Belgian distribution and trade federation)
  • Director of SIPA (the Seafood Importers’ and Processors’ Alliance)
  • Member of BVBVK (Belgian Frozen and Chilled Storage Association)
  • Member of NFI (National Fisheries Institute, USA)
  • Member of BFFF (British Frozen Foods Association)

He has been a frequent speaker worldwide at various international conferences dealing with shrimps and seafood.

Olivier is 49, speaks five languages, is married and has two young sons.
